Hair Pins

This might seem to be too simple a thing to bother listing, but there is such difference between bobby pins and hair pins, that we would like to show you. Bobby pins hold hair flat, like paperclips, while hair-pins hold it in piles, like the toothpick of a sandwich. Good hair pins are essential to the many styles from the past, so we offer them in as many sizes as we can get our dainty little paws on. Brief instructions are on the card, and demonstrations are free at shows.

Apparently in one of my grandmothers’ families, there was a phrase used by at least one husband: “H P C O D”,  a subtle way of saying “Hair Pin Coming Out, Dear”. That was long ago, back before “dear” became classified with other four-letter words!
